Corroboration checks
A figure one source states is a claim; two independent sources agreeing is evidence. This compares each firearm's weight and length with Wikidata, reached through each manufacturer's Wikidata item, and publishes where they agree and where they do not.
What it asks
Each manufacturer with a Wikidata item is asked for everything Wikidata records it making, with a mass and a length where it has them. Those items are matched to our firearms by name, strictly: a match that could be two models is skipped rather than guessed.
Agreement is within 15%, because Wikidata does not say whether a mass includes a magazine. A disagreement is not a correction: either side can be wrong (Wikidata has given the FN PS90 a mass of 213 g), so it goes to a person with both values and the maker's page.
Where we hold no figure and Wikidata has one, it is a lead for research, never an answer. A figure is written from a page that states it.
Coverage is thin, since Wikidata records figures for a minority of models. The value of this check is that what it finds is independent of everything else the catalogue was built from.

What happens to a finding
- Every run is published here as it happened, failures included, before anyone has looked at it.
- Each run is also kept as a report that lists what was fixed since the run before, what is new and what is still open, so progress is measured finding by finding rather than claimed.
- No check edits the catalogue. A finding goes to a person, who corrects the record by hand and cites what the correction rests on; the next run confirms it.
- A check id is never renamed, so a link to one keeps meaning the same question.
